No wish conceived, no thought expressed. Just a place between work, life and rest.

Work life balance is so important…easier said than done though, right?

Lately I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with everything it seems: work, finances, love, living, health, anti-aging, instagram algorithms (🙄) you name it. I’m not ashamed to say I’ve been going through some personal struggles, and it usually tends to happen around the holiday season for some freaking reason. This has resulted in nothing but extremely tense shoulders and a horrible case of acne, while desperately trying not to fall behind on work. Through all this I’ve learned that I still need to take time for self care (i.e. renew my Massage Envy membership), and literally smell the roses…

It started with wanting something to retreat to once I came home from work. I began visiting the Diptyque shop often and lighting candles at home, instantly realizing how nice a good quality candle is… So I became enthralled by the world of fragrance. I’ve grown to love learning about the notes, and it evolved into this fascination with perfume, and how it mixes with the chemicals of your body. I wake up looking forward to pairing a scent with my mood, and exploring how it changes on my skin throughout the day. No joke, this is like my new obsession. Scent is powerful in that it has the ability to transport you to an entirely different time and place, even if it’s somewhere you’ve never been before. It’s like a little escape. My collection of perfumes and candles is growing, and I’ve recently added Byredo and Le Labo to the mix. What are you favorite scents? And how do you escape from everyday stresses? Are you happy with your work/life balance, and have you found any hobbies that help?
